How To Use Cardboard Corner Protectors

The main uses of cardboard corner protectors include securing them around the edges of goods to protect corners, using them with packing straps to form a sturdy packaging unit, and increasing the stacking pressure of cartons.

Protecting Product Corners: The practicality of cardboard corner protectors is comparable to that of wooden crates. By securing the corner protectors around the goods, they effectively protect vulnerable corners and reduce freight damage. This method is suitable for various transportation methods and environmental conditions, ensuring the safety of products during transportation.

Forming a Sturdy Packaging Unit: Using cardboard corner protectors with packing straps, one can be placed at each corner of individually shaped cardboard boxes, boards, metal pipes, etc., and secured with packing straps to form a sturdy and stable packaging unit. This method enhances the stability and safety of the packaging, effectively preventing goods from tilting or collapsing during transportation.1 Increased Stacking Pressure: Paper corner protectors can withstand up to 1500 kg of pressure. Therefore, when transporting items such as washing machines, microwave ovens, and refrigerators, placing short paper corner protectors at the four corners of the carton not only allows the cartons to be stacked together but also prevents the contents from being crushed, thus avoiding unnecessary damage during transportation.1

Furthermore, bent paper corner protectors can be used with pallets to reinforce the overall packaging, preventing goods from tilting or collapsing. When placed on the outside of the carton for packing, they protect the carton from being torn by the packing straps. When placed in the inner corners of the carton, they enhance the stacking strength of the carton, making the packaging more secure.23 These methods collectively ensure the safety and integrity of products during logistics and transportation.
